Product Description
Timken Drives — Agricultural Chain Offset Links
Half Links · Odd-Pitch Adjustment · A-Series · CA-Series
Timken Drives offset links (also called half links) add one half-pitch to a chain loop so you can run an odd total number of pitches. Without them, you are forced to add or remove a full pitch at a time, which can prevent proper center-distance adjustment or pulley alignment.
- When to use: When the required chain length falls between two even pitch counts and you cannot adjust the drive center distance to absorb it.
- Construction: Cranked sideplates with a single pin and bushing set, factory-cottered for permanent assembly. Strength is modestly lower than the parent chain — plan drives around this.
- Matching series: Use the same series and pitch as your chain reel. A-series half links pair only with A-series chain; CA with CA.
- Best practice: Use at most one offset link per chain loop. Connecting link required in addition to close the loop. Avoid offset links on high-shock drives where possible.
