Product Description
Timken Drives® 4 Strand Connecting Link
ANSI Standard — Four Strand — #80 through #240
Multi-strand connecting links are required to close a 4-strand roller chain loop around your sprockets. Each 4-strand connecting link joins all 4 rows simultaneously with a single assembly, ensuring proper alignment and even load distribution across every strand.
Available in 8 ANSI sizes from #80 through #240, covering the full range of 4-strand power transmission applications. All sizes use cottered pins with shepherd’s hook cotter or T-pins for secure retention in high-load, multi-strand applications.
Always match your connecting link strand count to your chain — a single strand link cannot be used on multi-strand chain. Replace connecting links whenever you replace chain to maintain drive integrity.
- 4-Strand Construction — joins all 4 rows in a single assembly
- ANSI B29.1 Standard — interchangeable with all ANSI 4-strand roller chain
- Heat-Treated Pins — matched hardness to chain for even wear
- 8 Sizes Available — #80, #100, #120, #140, #160, #180, #200, #240
- Sold Individually — buy exactly the quantity your application requires

When You Need a Connecting Link
- New Chain Installation — every chain run requires at least one connecting link to close the loop
- Chain Repair — replace a damaged section by removing bad links and reconnecting with a new connecting link
- Length Adjustment — shorten or lengthen a chain run by adding or removing links and reconnecting
Installation Tip: For spring clip types, install the clip with the closed end facing the direction of chain travel. For cottered types, ensure cotter pins are fully seated and bent to prevent backing out.
1 All dimensions follow the Lambear tri-format: Imperial fraction – Decimal inches – Metric (mm).
2 Average tensile strength per ANSI B29.1. Match chain size to your existing chain run.
