Timken Drives® 2 Strand Offset Link (Half Link)
ANSI Standard — Two Strand — #35 through #240
Offset links (half links) allow you to adjust a 2-strand roller chain run by a single pitch when an even number of links won't achieve the correct chain length. Each 2-strand offset link spans all 2 rows, maintaining proper alignment across the full chain width.
Available in 12 ANSI sizes from #35 through #240. Offset links have slightly lower fatigue strength than standard chain links, so they should be used only when necessary. Where possible, adjust sprocket position to use an even number of pitches instead.
Always match your offset link strand count to your chain. Never mix strand counts — a 2-strand offset link is the only correct choice for 2-strand chain.

When You Need an Offset Link
- Odd-Pitch Chain Runs — when your center distance requires an odd number of pitches
- Fixed-Center Drives — when sprocket position cannot be adjusted and chain length must be exact
- Retrofit Applications — matching an existing chain length on replacement drives
Important: Offset links reduce overall chain fatigue life. Use them sparingly and avoid placing them adjacent to the connecting link. In critical applications, consider adjusting sprocket centers to eliminate the need for an offset link.
