The Timken 233 Series is an extended-heavy-duty, double-row, self-aligning spherical roller bearing built around a brass machined finger cage and straight (cylindrical) bore. It’s engineered for the most demanding industrial duty — crusher drives, vibrating screens, heavy conveyors, rolling mills, and paper-machine rolls — where shock, high axial thrust, and continuous heavy radial load coexist.

• Construction: Double-row self-aligning, cylindrical bore — compensates for shaft misalignment up to 1º under load.
• Cage: Brass machined finger (“EM” / “EMB” suffix) — superior shock tolerance and thermal stability vs. stamped steel; standard on heavier 233-Series variants.
• Relubrication: Many variants carry the W33 feature — oil groove plus three holes in the outer ring — for in-service regreasing without disassembly.
• Clearance classes: C0 (Normal), C3, C4, and Special — select C3 or C4 for high-temperature, interference-fit, or high-thermal-gradient applications.
• Bore range: 90 mm – 200 mm (3.54 in – 7.87 in).

Why 233 vs. 223: The 233 cross-section is wider and carries higher dynamic axial load capacity than the standard 223 Series, making it the right choice where 223 falls short under combined radial + axial loads or elevated shock.
