Timken Drives 3-strand (triplex) precision roller chain runs three rows of rollers on common, extended pins — multiplying the tensile capacity of single-strand chain of the same pitch by 3× without growing the sprocket diameter. When a drive needs more horsepower than fewer strands can carry but you can’t go up in pitch (shaft speed, sprocket clearance, or gearbox envelope), multi-strand chain is the answer. Every reel is carbon-steel ANSI B29.1 chain with riveted construction and case-hardened pins, shot-peened link plates, and factory pre-lubrication.
